Take Advantage of the Lush Provincial Parks In and Around Alliston

Forks of the Credit and Earl Rowe provincial parks are just a couple great destinations to enjoy for the day or as an overnight camping trip. Earl Rowe has beautiful self guided hiking trails including one paved trail for accessibility The park provides canoeing, swimming and fishing, group campsites and RV camping. Their fish ladder is a great place to view salmon and trout spawning. Forks of the Credit is on the famous Bruce Trail. It offers stunning views on their hiking trails and has a quaint little picnic area complete with tables to enjoy a lovely meal in the outdoors. Indulge in Local Foods and Entertainment at the Annual Festivals

There’s no better way to get to know your own community than by attending a festival for some good ole fashioned fun, food, shopping and entertainment! Luckily the area surrounding Treetops is home to a number of Simcoe County’s most highly anticipated summer events -- many of which offer local craft vendors indulgent fair foods like funnel cakes, home-made pies, BBQ and craft beers plus live performances and activities! It’s a great way to connect with your fellow community members and neighbours.

In nearby Cookstown, the 32nd Annual Wing Ding takes place the first weekend of June. It’s a giant garage sale festival that consists of over 100 local vendors, crafts, foods and great deals! Just for the record, it’s not named after chicken wings. Its name was derived from the definition of a “wing ding” which is “a lavish or lively party or celebration”.

Alliston’s Inaugural Ribfest takes place June 8-10th at Riverdale Park. Enjoy award-winning BBQ smoked ribs and a variety of your favorite festival foods. There will be plenty of activities including a kids zone with jumping castles, face painting, a marketplace, plus live music and entertainment all weekend long.

The Alliston Potato Festival has been consecutively selected as one of the Top 100 Festivals to visit in Ontario! Taking place Aug 11-13th this year, the long running festival features a parade, a large midway, laser tag, science center, creature and canine agility show, poker tournaments, classic car show and of course, live music and entertainment all weekend long. Treat the Kids to a Family Fun Pass
